About The Role

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineer and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. We're working on an 80km stretch of the new High Speed 2 line (HS2).

 

We’re looking for a Control Room Operator to join the Operational Support Control Room (OSCR) in Bicester.

Operational Support’s role is to deliver scalable and holistic logistics, security and support functions to enable construction across Areas C2 and C3 of the of the new HS2 network.

In this role, you will work within a shift pattern that includes periodic on-call and Saturday working.  The ideal candidate can ensure that the Logistics and Security Strategy is adhered to and provide guidance on all areas.

You must receive, contact and coordinate communications between all stakeholders to ensure that all are informed and receiving the accurate and timely information.

You will manage the movement of vehicles to and from the Contractor’s Working Areas using bespoke systems developed within the business. We also expect you to coordinate resources such as breakdown recovery and road cleaning services to ensure minimal disruption on construction activities and in ensuring legislation is adhered to. 

Your assistance will be required in the development of effective response plans from the correct operating procedure for incidents, communicating and response organization.
 
Collaboration with Subcontractors and other stakeholders to develop the most efficient, effective and sympathetic logistics solutions to support the scheme is an integral part of this role.
 
You will ensure the business complies with regulations and update policies and processes when required and maintain records, proving that the vehicle fleet is compliant with regulations.
 
You'll also provide advice and guidance to peers and operators on logistics issues. We expect you to improve the operational performance of the Logistics and Security team whilst minimising the operational downtime.
Implementation, maintenance and development of policies and processes to ensure the Logistics and Security team is effective and efficient whilst concurrently educating staff with industry concepts, practices and procedures.

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:

You will have experience in one (or more) of the following areas:

  • Creating and implementing KPI’s
  • Working in a team environment
  • Customer relationships
  • High tempo environments
  • Extensive experience with Office 365 - especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint

You will desirably have experience in:

  • Fleet operations
  • Road operations
  • Overseeing contract delivery
  • Construction Logistics
  • Manufacturing Logistics
  • FMCC Logistics
  • Blue Light Services
  • Public Service Logistics and/or
  • Control Room Operations
As part of the Client’s commitment to up skilling logistics professionals, you will either hold or work towards an appropriate nationally recognised standard endorsed by the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport, the Chartered Management Institute or other relevant professional body.
