About The Role

EKFB (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

EKFB are recruiting for a Survey Manager to join our wider Earthworks team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the establishing and maintenance of the Project site survey control network in order to deliver accurate survey control across the Project to allow works to be delivered.

The survey manager will manage, coordinate and provide regular survey data which will report and validate the status of all assets at different construction stages throughout the programme of Works while also carrying out measurements and collect and interpret data as part of Earthworks and Civils Works.

This role will coordinate with the Site Engineers for the priority of the project regarding implementation, changes of plans or deviations, unusual activities or non-conformances rectification work and coordinate with the consultant for Inspection & Approval.

The position will use as built interferences and prepare reports for submission to the engineering department for revision of drawings and liaise with the BIM, GIS and Survey teams for holistic management of models and utilities.

The Survey Manager will be setting out and carrying out Topographical and Engineering Surveys (Laser Scanner).

This position will use Point Cloud Data – Registration & Post-Processing, GNSS network surveying, precise traversing and precise levelling for breakdown from primary survey control.

This role will also include Quality Assurance – Design & Implement QA Methods & Procedures, managing and administering the permits to dig / ground disturbance system and associated procedures and act as an advisor to land surveying teams regarding earthworks tasks and operations.

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • HND/degree in Land Survey, or Geomatics, or equivalent.
  • Experience within a similar role and with similar values.
  • Experience in preparing survey-related Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Have expert knowledge of Leica total stations, levels and GNSS receivers.
  • Have excellent AutoCAD skills to produce 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Excellent documentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
