About The Role

Eiffage Kier Ferrovial and BAM (EKFB) is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

EKFB are recruiting for an Ecology Manager to join our Twyford to Greatworth (T2G) section of works. The main office for this section is in Brackley, Northamptonshire, however you will be required to travel to other sites throughout your section of works.

As an Ecology Manager, you will be developing and implementing solutions to meet legal requirements, client standards and EKFB procedures and requirements. You will also be providing specialist input to EKFB Management System arrangements. 
 
You will effectively manage a team of ecologists and specialist suppliers and will also work in collaboration with other ecology teams across the EKFB route, the Routewide ecology team and license holders.
 
The role will require you to produce accurate and concise scheme documentation and reports. You will need to effectively manage the key stakeholder relationships, which include the client and consent granting bodies.
 
A key part of this role is to programme site surveys and supervise the specialist contractors we have here at EKFB. You will also have input into scoping and assessments for large scale improvements. 
 
We expect you to be involved in desk studies and to carry out specialist ecological surveys and assessments which includes phase 1 and protected species. You will be expected to keep up to date with new environmental policies and legislation.
 
You will also need to provide advice, training and awareness briefings to colleagues and the supply chain.

About You

  • Relevant degree and/or experience of ecology in the construction industry
  • Experience of working with protected species
  • Holding some licenses such as GCN and/or bat license essential
  • Experience of managing a team of ecologists and / or specialist suppliers
  • Civils’ experience preferred
