About The Role

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
 
EKFB is seeking to recruit a Safety, Health and Wellbeing (SHW) Advisor to join our Greatworth to Southam (G2S) Delivery Area on a full time permanent basis. This role will primarily be based at our Chipping Warden compound, but travel will be required throughout the G2S Delivery Area.
 
You'll be joining an established team of safety professionals led by the sections SHW Manager. Supporting the project to safely delivery our section of works for HS2. You will drive all aspects of Safety, Health and Wellbeing (SH&W) for the assigned Delivery Area.
 
We would like you to promote and assist with both Corporate and Local SH&W Campaigns. The role will also require you to foster relationships with onsite operational teams and supply chain to monitor and drive SH&W Performance.
 
A key part of this role is to undertake Site Safety Inspections for all activities and proactively seek trends or anomalies within the inspections. You'll work with operational site teams to monitor and advise close out of audit/inspection findings, investigations and any other actions relating to the Delivery Area.
 
You will advise the SH&W Manager of common trends, events or inspection findings for local site activities to inform local campaigns, initiatives and to improve SH&W performance across the Delivery Area. You must apply and communicate the benefits of relevant content of the Business Management System (BMS). We'd also need you to assure the BMS requirements for all onsite activities and local facilities are met and maintained.
 
Another key element of this role is to carry out internal audits and surveillance activities for both construction and non-construction activities, as required. You will also appear on the EKFB “on call” Rota and follow the necessary “on call” procedures, as required.

About You

  • Holding, as a minimum, NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) qualification in occupational safety and health
  • Holding TechIOSH status or higher
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of SH&W on the ground
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing SH&W culture and performance at operational level
  • Knowledge of SH&W in the Construction Industry
