EKFB are recruiting for an Environmental Clerk Of Works to join our route wide Environment Team.
You will have oversight of the delivery of landscape packages ensuring quality adherence to specification, Technical Standards, checking our workmanship, quality and materials. You'll be ensuring all design requirements are meeting the objectives both on-site and in our offices.
You'll be assisting with the management oversight of early landscape and ecology mitigation areas, attending programme meetings, tracking budgets, auditing and checking works to support applications for payment.
The role will require you to interpret technical drawings and designs to facilitate delivery through our site teams and sub-contractors. The role will also require you to manage the delivery tracking and progress reporting, reporting against ITP criteria and unblocking barriers to delivery ahead of potential delays.
Your assistance will be needed in the management of the design change process, liaising with designers and key stakeholders to close out any changes to tight timescales. You will also have involvement in the route wide environment team which will require you to understand design requirements in terms of the Environmental Statement and relevant Undertakings and Assurances.
You will be assuring the inclusion of key landscape design elements, checking health and safety and ecological requirements are met. The role will also require you to contribute to the assurance that the design specification (SCEW) requirements are adhered to on site.
It is essential that you provide evidence to assist in the management of early warnings and general communications with sub-contractors. Your assistance will also be required in the maintenance of programmes for reporting and demonstrating compliance with applicable legislation and industry best practice.
A key part of this role is to assist with the implementation of BS EN ISO14001 certification and audit against the standard internal processes.
We expect you to work in collaboration with the wider Environmental team, client, designers, community and other stakeholders to ensure the programme is achieved. You will actively promote best practice relating to environmental management and sustainability.
