About The Role

At EKFB we’re shaping Infrastructure for a better tomorrow. All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects. 
 
We're looking for a Investigation and Learning Manager to join our Routewide team based in Milton Keynes.
 

In this role, you will will lead the development, implementation and continual improvement of EKFB's organisational learning framework. The role will ensure that lessons identified from incidents, investigations, observations, inspection activities and positive feedback are effectively captured, communicated and embedded across the wider EKFB project.

Working alongside Project Safety Leads and the wider Safety Team, the Organisational Learning Manager will help drive consistency and quality in investigation processes, promote learning from both successes and failures, and support the delivery of a proactive learning culture that contributes to safer and more effective project outcomes.

The role will provide oversight, guidance and quality assurance of investigations undertaken by project teams, whilst maintaining the principle that accountability for conducting investigations remains with operational teams and leaders.

This position represents a key interface with HS2 Ltd, supporting the client's ambition to strengthen organisational learning and improve the industry's ability to learn from operational experience.

 

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  •  Develop and maintain EKFB's organisational learning strategy
  • Establish consistent processes for capturing, analysing, sharing and embedding lessons learned across EKFB and the wider HS2 programme.
  •  Drive continuous improvement through the effective use of learning from incidents, assurance findings, good practice and innovation.
  • Ensure learning activities support EKFB's objectives, Health & Safety goals and HS2 requirements.
  • Promote a positive learning culture that encourages openness, reflection and continuous improvement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support for significant incident investigations where required.
  • Review, challenge and provide quality assurance for investigations completed by project teams.
  • Ensure investigations identify underlying organisational and systemic factors rather than focusing solely on immediate causes.
  • Support investigation leads in applying recognised investigation methodologies and learning review techniques.
  • Approve and sign off investigation reports where organisational learning oversight is required.
  • Monitor the quality, effectiveness and consistency of investigations across the project.
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role
